What to do in Saint-Raphaël?

Nestled at the foot of the volcanic Esterel massif, between Cannes and Saint-Tropez, Saint-Raphaël enjoys a prime location.

With 36 km of seafront and 5 marinas, this stretch of the Var coast invites you to discover its exceptional coastline.

Between water sports, hiking, beaches and coves, this seaside resort has plenty of surprises in store.

Saint-Raphaël is the ideal destination for an unforgettable holiday on the Côte d'Azur.

What to do in Saint-Raphaël?

The town centre and old town of Saint-Raphaël

The old town of Saint-Raphaël is just 5 minutes by car from Hôtel La Marina. Stroll through the narrow, shady lanes of the former "village quarter", where Saint-Raphaël's farmers once lived. Every day they host a typically Provençal flower and vegetable market.

A little further on, you will discover an old medieval Romanesque church, listed as a historic monument. Today it houses the Saint-Raphaël archaeology museum. Devoted to the Prehistory, Antiquity and Middle Ages of Provence, this museum will take you back in time. Its collections include ancient remains, among them a reconstruction of a Roman ship's cargo and a collection of amphorae. From the top of the building's watchtower, enjoy the beautiful view over the town, the sea and the Esterel.

Also worth seeing in the centre of Saint-Raphaël

  • The Basilica of Notre-Dame de la Victoire: located in the old port district of Saint-Raphaël, this Catholic basilica was built in 1883 in the Romano-Byzantine style.
  • The Louis de Funès Museum: immerse yourself in the world of the great actor Louis de Funès at the museum entirely dedicated to him. Through more than 400 documents, personal photographs, posters, awards and film clips, you will discover Louis de Funès at home with his family, in his château and garden. Fans of La Grande Vadrouille, Le Corniaud or Le Gendarme de Saint-Tropez will be delighted!
  • The Jardin Bonaparte: stroll through this 20,000 m² public park while admiring the superb view of the Mediterranean and the old port.

In Saint-Raphaël, the coastal path starts from the Santa Lucia harbour, the third-largest marina on the Côte d'Azur, and runs to the Pointe de la Beaumette, winding between the Mediterranean and the Esterel massif. Enjoy views of the famous red rocks of the Esterel, the Mediterranean, the harbour and the Île d'Or during your hike.
